Boatyards contain a plethora of interesting things in the form of rigging, rope, netting, ladders, rotting timbers, and rusty objects along with the shapes and forms of boats in their cradles. When sanded back for repair, the hull of a boat produces a range of interesting paint effects and the run off leaves trails of rusty orange and faded blue which along with the debris of marine growth combine in a chaotic blend to inform my work.
